Pustaka is a free digital library of fairy tales, folktales, fables, and bedtime stories from every culture in the world. We believe these timeless stories belong to everyone.

Our Mission

Classic fairy tales and folktales are part of humanity's shared cultural heritage. Many are in the public domain but scattered across the internet in hard-to-find formats. Pustaka brings them together in one beautiful, free, ad-free library — optimized for reading on any device.

Technology

Pustaka runs on 100% Cloudflare infrastructure — Pages, D1, R2, and Workers. No traditional servers. Stories are stored in a D1 database and R2 object storage, with AI-generated illustrations and adaptations. The entire site is open, fast, and free.
