Episode 112: Akhir Dari Kebahagiaan Dan Perginya We Tenridio
by I La Galigo
Adapted Version
The grand hall of Ale Luwu shimmered with a deceptive gaiety, a vibrant tapestry woven over a taut thread of unspoken tension. Sawerigading, usually the heart of any celebration, danced with an unusual fervor, as if trying to outrun a shadow only he could perceive.
Yet, despite the lively music and laughter, an undeniable unease permeated the air, a tremor caused by Datu Patoto'e and his influential entourage. Their presence cast a long, complex shadow over the festivities.
We Tenriabeng, watching Sawerigading, felt a familiar anxiety tighten its grip. "I hope this joy lasts, Sawerigading," she murmured, her voice tinged with a premonition. "But we must remain vigilant; much is unfolding around us." A bittersweet sorrow touched her eyes.
From a shadowed alcove, Datu Palinge' observed the scene with a calculating gaze. He understood this lavish party was more than celebration; it symbolized shifting power, a delicate balance easily disrupted.
The festive mood abruptly shattered when Gutu Patalo, utterly captivated by We Tenriabeng's luminous presence, boldly stepped forward. "I yearn to know you better, We Tenriabeng," he declared, his voice ringing with presumptuous confidence. "Your light brightens this dim world!"
We Tenriabeng recoiled, her composure unwavering despite the sudden hush that fell over the room. "You shall not touch me!" she asserted, her voice firm with dignity. "My heart is already pledged, and I am under another's protection." The guests exchanged worried glances.
Datu Patoto'e watched with a serious expression, ready to intervene. "We cannot permit such disrespect," he stated, his voice calm but authoritative. "We Tenriabeng, be patient. Gutu Patalo knows his place and his limits." But Gutu Patalo, defiant, reached out and seized We Tenriabeng's hand. "Only I am worthy of a goddess like you," he challenged, his arrogance palpable.
Amidst the growing tension, We Cudai slipped to Sawerigading's side, her whisper urgent. "We must depart! Her continued presence, and any talk of marriage, could become a grave threat to the kingdom."
We Tenriabeng, her spirit strained, made a heartbreaking decision. "I must leave!" she announced, her voice resonating with sorrowful resolve. "This is no longer about personal affection, but about safeguarding the entire realm!"
Sawerigading, his heart aching, stepped forward, his loyalty unwavering. "I will stand by you, no matter what fate decrees," he pledged, his voice thick with emotion. "We will not yield to this menacing challenge."
Yet, despite Sawerigading’s fierce promise, the certainty of their impending separation enveloped them both in a profound, shared anxiety. A heavy sorrow settled between them, knowing their paths would diverge.
With tears glistening in her eyes, We Tenriabeng looked at him, her voice barely a whisper. "If I depart, you must guard this kingdom, Sawerigading. Promise me you will not forget me."
Sawerigading’s gaze met hers, brimming with a hopeful sadness. "I will cherish your memory, and I promise to continue our struggle. I believe, with all my heart, that we shall meet again!"
The feast continued, a hollow echo of its former joy, music playing on, oblivious to silent farewells and heavy promises. Gutu Patalo, emboldened, again commanded attention, a stark reminder of the forces driving We Tenriabeng away and leaving Sawerigading to guard a kingdom.

Episode 112: Akhir Dari Kebahagiaan Dan Perginya We Tenridio
"We Nyili' Timo, lihatlah betapa hebatnya tarian ini! Datu Patoto'e pasti terkesima!" jerit Sawerigading.
"Saya harap begitu, Sawerigading.
Jangan biarkan satu tangan pun mengalihkan perhatian kita."
Namun, kegembiraan seketika sirna ketika Gutu Patalo yang terpesona dengan We Tenriabeng mendekatinya. "Saya ingin mengenalmu lebih dekat, We Tenriabeng.
We Tenriabeng, bersabarlah.
Kelegaan berbalik menjadi ketegangan ketika We Cudai menghampiri.
