DEDICATION
by Friedrich Heinrich Karl Freiherr de La Motte-Fouqué · from Undine
Adapted Version
I want to tell you about Undine. She is my friend. I saw her in an old book. It was a very old book. I read her story there.
Undine, you were a little bit shy. Your voice was soft. You had some sad feelings. You told them to me. I listened to your words. I knew your feelings. They gave me many ideas. Your story touched me deeply. My heart felt happy then. You made me want to sing.
I played my little guitar. It made sweet sounds. I played my guitar each day. Your gentle words became my songs. My songs were about you. My music told your story. All loved the tunes. People heard it all around. Your story went far and wide. Your name became well known. Many people learned about you. My songs helped you shine bright.
Many hearts loved you, Undine. They loved your story. They saw your true self. Your kindness shone through. You had some small worries. Your worries were small things. My songs showed your good heart. People did not mind them. They loved you very much. People wanted to know more. They wanted to read your story. My music helped them love you.
I hear people want you back. They talk about you often. They hope to see you. They miss your gentle ways. So, Undine, please come! Don't be scared! Forget all your worries. You are a spirit blessed. Your light should shine brightly. The world needs your kindness. Come out and show yourself. All will be happy. I want you to be brave.
Greet all in the big room. Walk in with your head high. Greet the ladies. Greet the big people. Say hello to each one. Smile at them all. They will be happy to see you. They will cheer for you. I know they love you. Your presence brings joy. All love you, Undine. You are very special.
If someone asks about me. Please tell them this, Undine. Say I am a good friend. Tell them I play my guitar. I help people with my songs. I share joy with my music. I help them with my heart. I care for all my friends. I am kind to all. I try to do good things. I like to make people happy. Tell them I am your friend. My friendship is true. I want you to know this.
Undine came out to play. She smiled a big smile. All was happy. The room filled with joy. I was happy too. My friend was brave. It was a good day.

DEDICATION.
Undine, thou image fair and blest,
Since first thy strange mysterious glance,
Shone on me from some old romance,
How hast thou sung my heart to rest!
How hast thou clung to me and smiled,
And wouldest, whispering in my ear,
Give vent to all thy miseries drear,
A little half-spoiled timorous child!
Yet hath my zither caught the sound,
And breathed from out its gates of gold,
Each gentle word thy lips have told,
Until their fame is spread around.
And many a heart has loved thee well,
In spite of every wayward deed,
And many a one will gladly read,
The pages which thy history tell.
I catch the whispered hope expressed,
That thou should'st once again appear;
So cast aside each doubt and fear,
And come, Undine! thou spirit blest!
Greet every noble in the hall,
And greet 'fore all, with trusting air,
The beauteous women gathered there;
I know that thou art loved by all.
And if one ask thee after me,
Say: he's a true and noble knight,
Fair woman's slave in song and fight
And in all deeds of chivalry.

Attire: Simple yet elegant garments that flow like water, perhaps made of light, sheer fabrics in shades of blue, green, or white, reminiscent of the sea or a river. She might wear a loose, unadorned gown that allows for free movement, possibly with subtle embroidery depicting water motifs.
Wants: To find love and a soul, to overcome her inherent nature as a spirit without a soul.
Flaw: Her emotional vulnerability and her connection to her water spirit nature, which makes her susceptible to heartbreak and bound by the rules of her kind.
She begins as a 'half-spoiled timorous child' and through her experiences, particularly with love and sorrow, she matures and her 'history' becomes a tale of profound emotional depth.
