Adapted Version
"Listen well," said Scheherazade. "I will tell you a story. It is about a brave princess. She met a magic creature."
The Princess went to a secret place. Her helpers went with her. They went to a big courtyard. It was a special place.
The Princess drew a big circle. She made magic shapes. She said magic words. The words were very old. She stood in the middle.
The sky got dark. It looked like night. A big creature came. It was a huge lion. The Magic Creature was angry. It looked very scary.
The Princess spoke to the lion. "You are mean!" she said. The lion roared very loud. It wanted to scare her. It opened its big mouth.
The Princess was very quick. She changed into a sword. The sword made the lion go away. Then, a scorpion appeared.
The Princess changed again. She became a snake. The snake fought the scorpion. The scorpion turned into an eagle. The eagle flew high up. It flew far away.
The Princess changed too. She became a big eagle. She was a strong eagle. She flew after the Magic Creature. She wanted to catch it.
The ground opened up. A cat came out. It was black and white. A wolf ran after it. The wolf was fast.
The cat was too slow. It changed into a worm. The worm found a fruit. It was a fruit. The worm hid inside it.
The fruit grew big. It rolled. It fell to the ground. Crash! It broke into pieces. Seeds went all around.
The wolf changed again. It became a rooster. The rooster ate the seeds. It ate them very fast. Yum, yum!
One seed was left. The rooster saw it. It ran to the seed. The seed rolled away. It fell into water. It became a small fish.
The sun came up. "Oh, no!" said Scheherazade. "It is morning now." The King wanted more. He wanted to know. He asked, "What happened next?"
Original Story
L NUIT.
