Tiba-tiba, dari kegelapan, muncul KAPAL BAJAK LAUT. Lampu obor berkedip-kedip. Teriakan garang terdengar.
ADIT (V.O.)
"Di sinilah alur cerita aslinya dimulai. Malin Kundang diculik, lalu dijual. Pengalaman itu membentuknya. Tapi... bagaimana jika ia tidak diculik? Bagaimana jika ia... diselamatkan? Dan berhutang pada seseorang?"
Sesosok BAYANGAN HITAM (Adit) melesat di antara gelombang. Bukan fisik, melainkan siluet yang bergerak lebih cepat dari angin. Adit tidak menyerang bajak laut, ia hanya membuat sebuah gangguan kecil yang mengubah arah kapal bajak laut. Ia membuat kapal bajak laut berputar, dan sebuah PETI KAYU tua terlempar ke laut, tersangkut di jaring Malin.
INT. KAPAL MALIN - TENGAH MALAM (SETELAH KEKACAUAN)
Malin terengah-engah. Ia tidak melihat Adit. Ia melihat peti kayu yang tersangkut di jaringnya. Ia membukanya. Harta karun bajak laut. Simbol-simbol kuno terukir di dalamnya.
ADIT (V.O.)
"Manusia selalu percaya pada keajaiban. Dan saya, saya hanya memberikan keajaiban yang tepat. Harta karun itu terkutuk. Saya tahu. Tapi Malin tidak."
Hologram Lontara Link di mata Adit (di dunia nyata) menampilkan CURSED ARTIFACT: HIGH VALUE. Adit tersenyum tipis.
