CEFR A1 Age 5 256 words 2 min Canon 100/100

Once, there was a man named Mr. Stingy. He was very greedy. Mr. Stingy did not like to share. He kept all his things for himself. He did not like to help others. He was not a kind man. He never gave anything to his friends.

One day, the village wanted a thanks party. They wanted to have a big, happy time. They asked Mr. Stingy for help. "No!" he said. "I will not give a thing." He did not want to join the party. He kept his food and money.

Then, a big storm came. Heavy rain fell for many days. The village got very wet and muddy. The water caused big problems. All the people had to leave their homes. They were sad. They had no dry bed. They had no warm food to eat.

Mr. Stingy's son was wise. He saw the people were sad. He decided to help all the people. The Wise Son was brave and kind. He had a good idea. He wanted to make a new home.

He found a new, dry place. The people worked as a group. They built a new city there. They built new homes for all. They built a school and a park. They called the new city Cianjur. All the people had a happy home again. They were safe and dry. They were all very thankful.

The story teaches us a good thing. Being kind and giving is good. Being thankful is good too. We should help our friends. Sharing makes everyone happy.
