Attire: He wears simple, practical clothing suitable for the rainforest: a woven loincloth (cawat) made from natural fibers, possibly with some simple geometric patterns, and sometimes a sleeveless vest made of bark cloth or rough cotton. He might carry a small woven bag for foraging.

Wants: To live peacefully in harmony with nature and to help those in need.

Flaw: Perhaps a naive trust in others, or a tendency to put others' needs before his own.

He transforms from a simple jungle dweller into a prince by marrying Putri Intan, learning that kindness brings great rewards.

Kind, brave, observant, helpful, respectful.

Putri Intan ◆ supporting

human (formerly magical creature) young adult female

A beautiful young woman of slender build, with skin that glows like polished ivory, indicative of her royal status and perhaps a life sheltered from harsh sun. She moves with an inherent grace and elegance.

Attire: As a princess, she would wear exquisite traditional Malay/Indonesian court attire, such as a 'baju kurung' or 'kebaya' made of fine silk or songket fabric, richly embroidered with gold thread and intricate patterns. Her sarong would be of matching batik or songket. She would wear delicate gold jewelry, perhaps a necklace or bracelets.

Wants: To break her curse and return to her true form and home, and later, to find happiness and love.

Flaw: Her vulnerability to the curse, and perhaps a certain dependence on others due to her royal status.

She transforms from a cursed bird back into her human form, and then from a cursed princess into a happily married woman, finding love and a new life with Dohong.

Gracious, appreciative, gentle, resilient (having endured a curse), loving.

Tingang ◆ supporting

magical creature (rhinoceros hornbill) ageless non-human

A magnificent rhinoceros hornbill, a large, striking bird native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia. It possesses a prominent, upward-curving casque (horn-like structure) on its beak, which is typically orange and red. Its plumage is primarily black with white markings on its belly, tail, and wingtips. Its eyes are bright and intelligent.

Attire: Its natural plumage of black, white, and the vibrant orange/red of its casque.

Wants: To be rescued and have the curse broken.

Flaw: Its inability to break its own curse, requiring external help.
